Police have new plans to clamp down on car crime. Breaking into drivers cars and stealing their possessions seems to be the answer!Officers in Richmond are breaking into cars that appear to have valuables, removing them and leaving the drivers with 'crime prevention' notes. But fear not, they then go on a search in the local area to find the driver and return their items. If they fail to find the driver all the CD players and Sat navs are taken to the local police station. How very kind of them!
The scheme started last week in Richmond and already there has been controversy from local residents. Do the police really have the right to steal others belongings? Surely any thief that was caught would say 'I was planning on returning them!' well isn't that exactly what the police are doing?
